To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great composer Maurice Ravel, we present a special program inspired by his genius and musical versatility as a broad perspective on one of the most important creative giants and his unique and compelling style at the crossroads between Impressionism and modernism.

Ina Kancheva graduated in opera singing at the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia. Next came scholarships to the European Opera Centre, Manchester, Arena di Verona Foundation, Academy Chiggiana, Placido Domingo Centre of Excellence - Palau de les Arts. 

She is a laureate of many prestigious competitions including Young Musical Talents, Pancho Vladigerov, Montserrat Caballe, Manuel Ausensi, Spyros Argiris, DEBUT, Viotti, As.Li.Co, etc. She was awarded "Musician of the Year" 2002 in Bulgaria.

From 2002 to 2006 Ina Kancheva was a soloist of the Hannover Opera House, and from 2005 to 2011 of the Stuttgart Opera House, where she performed the roles of Giulietta from "Capuleti e Montecchi", Mimi from "Bohemi”, Violetta in La Traviata, Countess Adele in “Le Comte d'Ory”, Lucio Cinna in “Lucio Silla”, Micaela in “Carmen”, Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan tutte”, Pamina in “Die Zauberflöte”, etc.

In 2020 and 2021 Ina was in close collaboration with the Radio Orchestra of the Berlin National Radio (RSB) and with them made several recordings and concerts. During this time, she took part in numerous recitals in Madrid, Weimar, Berlin and Paris, as well she took part in several chamber projects of Les Concerts de Poche and France Musique-France and in Juan March Foundation-Spain among others.

She has appeared as a soloist in different festivals in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as in a numerous opera house in Germany, the Royal Danish Opera, Covent Garden in London, La Scala in Milan, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, etc.

Ina has worked with internationally renowned conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, Lorin Maazel Manfred Honeck, Enrique Mazzola, Vladimir Jurowski, Alberto Zedda, Gianluigi Gellmetti, Vasiliy Petrenko, Marc Piollet, Julia Jones, Sir Neville Marriner, Jiří Belohlavek, Konrad Junghänel, Sebastian Rouland, as well as with leading specialists in the field of Baroque music such as René Jacobs, Ottavio Dantone, Fabio Biondi, Stefano Montanari among others.

 

Emanuil Ivanov attracted international attention after receiving the First prize at the 2019 Ferruccio Busoni Piano Competition in Italy. This achievement was followed by concert engagements in some of the world’s most prestigious halls including Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Herculessaal in Munich and the Great Hall of the Saint Petersburg philharmonic. Emanuil Ivanov was born in 1998 in the town of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. From an early age he demonstrated a keen interest and love for music. He regards the presence of symphonic music, especially that of Gustav Mahler, as tremendously influential in his musical upbringing during his childhood. He started piano lessons with Galina Daskalova in his hometown around the age of seven. He later studied in and graduated from the Bertolt Brecht language high school in Pazardzhik. Ivanov studied with renowned bulgarian pianist Atanas Kurtev from 2013 to 2018. He is currently studying on a full scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under the tutelage of Pascal Nemirovski and Anthony Hewitt. Ivanov has won prizes in competitions such as “Alessandro Casagrande”, “Scriabin-Rachmaninoff”, “Pavel Serebryakov”, “Liszt-Bartok”, “Young virtuosos” and “Jeunesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti”. He was also awarded the honorary Crystal lyre and the Young Musician of the Year Award – some of the most prestigious awards in Bulgaria.His participations in masterclasses include those of Dmitri Bashkirov, Dmitri Alexeev, Stephen Hough, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Peter Donohoe, etc. In February 2021, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ivanov performed a solo recital in Milan’s famous Teatro alla Scala. The concert was live-streamed online and is a major highlight in the artist’s career.Emanuil Ivanov has also performed at many festivals in Bulgaria and has also given solo recitals in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Cyprus, the United Kingdom and Poland. He has played with leading orchestras in Bulgaria and Italy. 

Symphony Orchestra - Vratsa continues and successfully develops the symphonic traditions, the authority and the history of the State Philharmonic Orchestra - Vratsa, which has existed for decades. Established in 1973, the Philharmonic is the successor of the opera orchestra of the town of Vratsa. It is the successor of the Vratsa Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1909. The orchestra's repertoire includes works from all eras and genres of world music. Bulgarian music - from the classics to young composers - occupies a special place in the programmes, and many of their works are performed at a number of national and international music festivals. Various opera titles are also regularly presented in concert performance. Particular attention and care is given by the management of the institution to the young and children's audience, for whom special children's performances, educational lectures and concerts are created. Cantata-oratorio works are performed together with some of the best Bulgarian choirs (St. Obretenov National Choir; Danube Sounds, Gena Dimitrova, Rodina, etc.). Currently, the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra is composed mainly of young and talented musicians from Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Serbia, Albania, Turkey, South Korea, USA, Poland, Great Britain, Colombia, Azerbaijan, etc. 

Hristo Pavlov is director of the Vratsa Symphony, conductor of this ensemble in numerous concert programmes and associate professor of symphonic orchestration at the National Academy of Music "Prof. He is a professor of Pavlovian Music at the Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov". He is a lecturer at the Master's programmes of the European Academy of Fine Arts, part of the American University in Dublin, and is the main producer of the dozens of annual recording sessions within these programmes. He has been a guest lecturer at Pulse College, Dublin and at Southwestern University "Neofit Rilski", Blagoevgrad. He has conducted numerous orchestras, including: the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio, the orchestra with choir and soloists of the State Music Theatre, the choir and orchestra of the Varna Opera, the Symphony Orchestra of Varna, the Symphony Orchestra of Varna, the Symphony Orchestra of Varna, the Symphony Orchestra of Varna. Pazardzhik, Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, Classic FM Radio Orchestra, etc. Until the autumn of 2017 he was a permanent guest conductor of the Vratsa Symphony Orchestra (since 2012) and the Sofia Symphony Orchestra (since 2014). He is the founder and conductor of the Sofia Metropolitan Orchestra, a studio orchestra that has participated in hundreds of recording sessions for international film and symphony productions (as well as under the name Philharmonia Bulgarika).He is a laureate of national and international competitions as flutist, composer and conductor. He has made recordings as a performer, composer, arranger, conductor, music producer for Bulgarian and foreign record companies, radio and television broadcasts, as well as over 100 world or Bulgarian premieres of concert works created by authors of different nationalities. He is also a composer, orchestrator and arranger of theatre, film, chamber, symphonic, electronic and pop music. He has also taken part on numerous occasions as a performer, conductor and arranger in a variety of pop, jazz and rock music events. From late 1990 to 2014 he worked as a flutist soloist in the Bulgarian National Radio's SO. He has been conducting since 1993. Since 2012, he has been teaching full-time, combined with an active conducting career. He has been the manager of hundreds of concert events and recording sessions of Bulgarian and foreign performers, ensembles and orchestras, realized in the period from 1993 to present for the needs of over 20 record, film and concert management companies, as well as various stage and multimedia productions from Bulgaria, Europe, USA, Mexico, Brazil, China, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia. Since 1997 he has been active in music management, working with partners from four continents - Europe, Asia, North and South America.
