The CULTURAMA Festival presents the second music project of the Cultural Perspectives Foundation, part of our National Scholarship program: With Efforts Towards the Stars, in which it presents one of this year's scholarship recipients, Lily Bogdanova (piano), with her promising chamber ensemble Trio Brontë from Berlin.

Come to an interdisciplinary chamber concert with poetry and an abstract visual concept.

Every time of day has its own specific mood and atmosphere - from the first rays of sunrise to the warm sunset disappearing into the darkness of night. This delightful natural phenomenon, which we witness every day, has inspired many artists over the centuries. The concert "Un jour" is a poetic idea to present this daily cycle through the eyes of various French or French-influenced composers, poets, and artists. Our goal is to create a complete experience and performance through a combination of music, poetry, paintings, and lights that flow into one another.

In addition to musical works, there will be readings of works by poets such as Marcelin Desbordes-Valmore, Anna de Noailles, Stéphane Mallarmé, Charles Baudelaire, and others.

The Bronte Trio won first prize at the Ilmari Hannikainen International Chamber Music Competition for Pianists in Finland in 2023. Based in Berlin and composed of Ava Bahari (violin), Lili Bogdanova (piano), and Annie Jacobs-Perkins (cello), Trio Brontë is named after the Brontë sisters and inspired by their passion, intelligence, and companionship.

In March 2023, Trio Brontë performed as soloists in Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Jyväskylä Sinfonia under the baton of Jan Söderblom. Their performance from this concert was broadcast on Finnish television by Areena Broadcasting Company. Other recordings of the trio have also been broadcast on Classic FM Bulgaria.

The trio has an affinity for works by lesser-known composers and female composers, as well as works that differ from the traditional canon. They recently gave the world premiere of Tuomas Turiaho's "Panta Rhei."

Ava, winner of awards from the Paganini and Tibor Varga competitions, has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, and the Teatro Carlo Felice. As a chamber musician, she has performed at festivals such as the Santander Music Festival and Davos. Parallel to her main studies in Berlin, she completed a "Concertmaster Artistic Diploma" at the Stauffer Center in Cremona in 2022.

Lili, named "Young Musician of the Year" by Bulgarian National Radio, has performed at venues such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Bulgaria Hall in Sofia, with the Mozart Festival Orchestra of Tokyo, the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Columbia County Orchestra. In 2014, she released her debut album, La fille aux cheveux de lin, which includes works by Claude Debussy and César Franck.

Praised for her "hypnotic lyricism that makes listeners forget where they are for a moment" (Alex Ross, The New Yorker), Annie is an artist-in-residence for the 2023-24 season at the Austin Chamber Music Center and the EstOvest Contemporary Cello Week festival. She regularly performs at chamber music festivals such as the Ravinia Steans Institute, Yellow Barn, Marlboro Music, and Krzyzowa Music. She looks forward to upcoming engagements as a soloist with the Springs Chamber Orchestra, the Binghamton Philharmonic, and the Postclassical Ensemble at the Kennedy Center.

The Bronte Trio studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" with pianist Jonathan Aner and received additional guidance from Kolja Blacher, Troels Svane, and Eldar Nebolsin.
